Quintinite ( Localité-Type)
Mg₄Al₂(OH)₁₂(CO₃) · 3H₂O

     La quintinite-3T est une récente addition au mont Saint-Hilaire.
Originalement identifiée comme hydrotalcite en 1976, elle fut ensuite désignée UK # 58.

CARACTÉRISTIQUES PHYSIQUES:

Couleur - incolore à jaune.
Éclat - vitreux.
Transparence - transparent.
Système cristallin - hexagonal, P3₁12 ou P3₂12.
Morphologie - cristaux tabulaires et hexagonaux jusqu'à 1 mm de long.
Clivage - {0001} parfait.
Cassure - (??).
Dureté - ~ 2.
Densité - 2,14 g/cm³.
Trait - blanc.
Associations minérales - aégirine, albite, analcime, ancylite, donnayite, gonnardite et microcline.
Autres propriétés - aucunes.
Étymologie - nommée en 1992, d'après le colonel Quintin Wight (né 1935), amateur Canadien et auteur du livre "The Complete Book of Micromounting".
